A plastic shredder is a machine that is used to cut plastic into smaller pieces for granulation. Unlike plastic granulators, shredders are designed specifically for larger plastic waste such as car bumpers, pipes, barrels and other items that are too large for granulators. In this process, large plastic items are fed into the shredder. The blades, which move at a slower speed than in a granulator, break the plastic into smaller pieces. These pieces are then collected, washed and processed in washing and recycling facilities before being granulated and sent to manufacturers.
